Walking into Mu.Vi.S is rather like journeying into the past: exhibits speak of lives made of sacrifice, stories of worker, farmer, livestock breeder and artisan, but also of women and children. The museum has a wealth of evidence of journeys made by wayfarers of the time: poets, musicians, artists, men of letters, diplomats, generals, pilgrims and traders many of whom described their adventures – and emotions – in their diaries.
Visitors can enjoy a virtual journey, in their own carriage with a commentary by the coachman himself, accompanied by picture postcards from long ago.
