Strolling through the narrow streets of the historic centre, you will discover almost by chance perhaps that it has a vibrancy in every little corner. Charming little piazza, many hosting their own particular fountain, potstone portals on ancient dwellings decorated with floral or geometric motif are sure to grab your attention. With the constant flow of the river Mera as backdrop which you can observe from above by crossing bridges in the centre or alongside it by following the “Passeggiata” skirting its banks.
The town is a veritable open-air museum, of huge interest to young and old as it represents a perfect combination of history and nature that encapsulates the town, once defined as “The key to the two valleys”, situated as it is between the Lepontine and the Rhaetian.
